I am 63 years old now and getting better.  Now that I am over the hill, I decided to slide down on the smaller numbers...haha. 62 is next.  I am very active and somewhat adventurous and love to explore new things.

I have 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren.  I have two step-grandchildren and 1 step great-grandson.  I am having fun watching them grow into young adults.

I have learned to be very independent and am trying to learn to do many jobs that I haven't done before.  Some of the "boy" things have to be done by my sons but not many.  Learning to fix things before calling a professional has been an experience.

I have learned to play "Bridge" and evenutally want to start playing the game of golf.  I have my clubs, bag and golf balls all ready to go.   I also plan on taking some piano lessons soon as I have a very nice Hammond organ I would love to play.  These activities are on my "fun to do" list.

I have been working on various projects that I put on my personal "need to do" list and they are soon to be completed.  Painting my home, staining my deck and replacing all of my home and shop entrance doors and storms were among some of the projects that I have completed.   I also have dug a large flower bed with a rock path through it, just like my grandmother's garden.  As soon as all of my projects are completed, I will go on to another phase of my "new life".

I have many hobbies and interests that keep me occupied but to travel is my "dream".    For now,  taking care of my home and being near my children, grandchildren and family is making me happy and fulfilled.

I am finding a new interest in photography and am enjoying the "history" of my city and landmarks that have been replaced and will document buildings and stores as they are replaced in the name of progress.  I photographed and have made a Power Point Presentation on the demolition of our 94 year old high school as it progressed to be made into a parking lot for Mayo Clinic.

I enjoy "writing' stories and poetry and hope to have some of my writings published someday.  I have faithfully kept a daily diary for many years.

I love working on my computer and always try to learn new "tricks" and have lots of fun trying all of the new technology that is available now.

My family genealogy is a project that I have been working on for a few years....I am finding new information everyday....it's fun and rewarding to find out about my ancestors and how and when they came to this wonderful country of ours.  I have found lots of new relatives by using the Internet and Ancestry.com.

Scrap-booking is a project which I have just started....and hopefully someday I will be able to get all of my pictures "scrap-booked" so that my family will be able to see the story of my life and theirs in pictures.  Memories are brought to life in story form with this kind of collection and the captions provide information on who is in the pictures and what they are doing with dates and places.  It's a great way of handing down family pictures.

Sewing and embroidery have always been a part of my life and I continue to learn new techniques with my new Janome 10,001 Embroidery machine.  It is all new technology and is connected to my computer for easy storage and I love creating my own patterns.
